Welcome to the EPICare platform
Early Psychosis Informatics into Care (EPICare) is a national digital platform that uses routine data from NHS Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) services to help improve outcomes for people with first-episode psychosis.
The EPICare platform analyses data that patients provide during their EIP care and delivers real-time insights on treatment, recovery and other important outcomes back to each patient's clinical care team. This help clinicians monitor progress and tailor care to each patient's recovery journey.

EPICare also allows scientists to identify important trends in psychosis need, care, and outcomes to help improve treatments and services for people in their first episode of psychosis in England.
The EPICare platform is actively co-designed with people with lived experience, carers, clinicians, researchers, and policymakers to collect data relevant to different stakeholders. EPICare combines digital innovation and co-production to improve psychosis care across England.
Why is a data platform needed for psychosis care?
Psychosis typically emerges for the first time in adolescence, and peaks in people's early- to mid-twenties. While some people make a full recovery, about 60-70% currently do not. We also know that not all patients are currently offered or receive the same gold standard treatments for psychosis in England.

We believe that better digital data collection and near real-time analysis would transform our understanding of which treatments worked best for each patients in the real world. This could help transform patient care and recovery outcomes.
